Hamburg
Public Sewage Company, HSE, is part
of HAMBURG WATER GROUP, Germany´s
largest communal water supply and wastewater
disposal company. HSE has been responsible
for the infrastructure for the metropolitan
region of Hamburg for more than 160
years. It disposes the waste- and stormwater
from about 1.7 million inhabitants of
the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg
and from 31 towns and communities in
the surrounding area. When the industrial
and trade wastewater is taken into account,
the total PE amounts to 2.3 m. The wastewater
is treated in one centralised WWTP.
