The symposium “Sustainable energy
efficient building”, organized
by the dena, German Energy Agency, in
cooperation with the Shanghai Construction
and Transportation Commission and ecobuild
was held on September 21st, at the Intercontinental
Hotel Pudong. |

Opening the event, German Federal
Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee and Shanghai
Vice Mayor Yang Xiong underlined the
need for more sustainable approaches
in urban development policies and
the importance for Sino-German cooperation
for energy efficient building.

This one-day dialogue features
renowned experts in the field of energy
efficient building: key note speakers
from the German and the Shanghai governments
elaborated side elaborated on policy
making, incentive framework setting
and evaluation system development
for an effective market promotion.
Academic experts followed with the
technical input on energy efficient
design and solutions. |

Project examples, such as the Pujiang
Intelligence Valley, first project
of the ecobuild campaign to be completed,
or the Shanghai Xingzhuang Ecological
Building, developed by Shanghai Research
Institute for Building Sciences were
presented as key for the demonstration
of technical solutions and economic
viability. |
