A conference, organized by the Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference
- CPPCC, AHK and ecobuild, aimed at
supporting the Chinese government efforts
to promote a more energy efficient,
environmentally friendly society. As
per the 11th 5-Year Plan, energy is
high in the list of priorities. |

The objective of this energy efficiency
conference, hosted by the CPPCC, was
to: |
| |
- enable a dialogue between professionals,
politics and academics
- support the efforts of the Shanghai
municipality in the field of energy
- promote energy efficiency concepts
and technologies
- raise awareness among decision makers
and consumers |
| |

| |
The recent government’s impulse
with the new five year plan is creating
a positive framework for more energy
efficiency accross all sectors. However,
further awareness needs to be raised
among decision makers from governmental
institutions and the industry as well
as among consumers. |

The event took place on July 13, 2006
in Shanghai, hosted in the facilities
of the CPPCC. The CPPCC as host and
patron of the conference underlined
the government’s interest to cooperate
with the industry and academia on the
energy themes. |
