signature of
the sustainability partnership with
BASF
BASF is looking at developing the
market for innovative construction materials
and has joined the ecobuild
platform to further pursue this objective.
Mr. Johnny Kwan, Head of BASF Greater
China, has signed the ecobuild
sustainability partnership in the presence
of Prof. Malecki, First Construction
Director of the Ministry for City Planning
and Environment on January 11th.
The construction industry is of great
significance to BASF especially in China.
Rapid changes in China - new businesses,
joint ventures, the introduction of
new technologies, shorter product-life
cycles, new standards of energy efficiency
and an overall booming construction
sector - offer major challenges and
opportunities. The construction industry
is an extremely complex market with
a broad spectrum of decision-makers
extending from architects to developers.
BASF's broad variety of raw materials
plays important roles in construction
materials and products, as they make
construction simpler and more efficient
and buildings environmentally friendly
and more attractive. Micronal® PCM
(Phase Changing Material) from BASF
is one example of such an innovative
material used for intelligent temperature
management. Building materials modified
with Micronal® PCM ensure energy-efficient
living areas in an environmentally friendly
manner.
