Ecobuild pavilion
at China Expo Build |

Suppliers of green building materials
are facing an enormous market potential.
It is estimated in the coming 10 years
half of the world’s building activities
will take place in China, with around
2 bilion sqm of construction built in
2005. Projects are comparatively huge
with average commercial buildings covering
100-150000 sqm and residential developments
reaching up to 500000 sqm. Buildings
are 4-6 times less energy-efficient
compared to buildings in Western Europe.
With frequent shortage of energy, the
city government of Shanghai is enforcing
energy efficiency standards; starting
from 2005 already 6 million sqm of building
projects are subject to the new energy
saving building standards. |

The German perspective on energy-efficient
buildings will be presented by ecobuild
during the Green Building at Expo Build
2006. German and local experts will
be presenting their concepts of energy
efficient buildings, on April 4th, 2.00
pm to 4.30 pm, in Hall 3, meeting room,
mezzanine level. A preview on the ecobuild
building projects will be offered at
the ecobuild
pavilion, Hall W5, Booth Number 5E13. |
