The session was opened by Liu Yadong, from the Shanghai Construction Commission.

The workshop took place in one of the completed ecobuild projects, in the Hongkou district, where PU insulation foam has been applied and windows exchanged with energy efficient PVC ones in a 5 story administrative building.

Chen Chen, from the Shanghai Real-Estate Science Research Institute, presented the achievements in terms of energy efficiency of the renovation process, which included raw materials from BASF.

The session included presentations from France Zhu, Derek Wang, Yvonne Ma and Pak Changyong from BASF, Uwe Muenchow from Baumit and Dr. Qiao Ke from Sto.

The 35 participants engaged a very active discussion, as new and innovative materials raised many questions on application possibilities.
