Hamburg and Shanghai, hand in hand for a better future
Ecobuild conference on November 8-9, 2006
   
  The ecobuild conference took place on November 8-9 in the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Over 300 participants joined the conference.
   
   
 
   
   
  The conference was opened by China Construction Ministry Mr Han Aixing.
   
  Mr.Sun Jianping, Chairman of the Shanghai Construction Commission, together with his counterpart from the Hamburg Ministry of Urban Development and Environment, Joachim Malecki, further emphasized on the 2 sister cities visions: creating a sustainable urban environment through ecological building development.
   
   
 
   
   
  The first day of the ecobuild conference included the words of the ecobuild sustainability partners, Mr. Johnny Kwan from BASF and Mr. Michael Berger from Bayer MaterialScience. The two companies have supported the ecobuild campaign over one year to promote concepts and materials for energy efficiency.

  The second day of the ecobuild conference featured a technical seminar, presenting various concepts, products and technologies for ecological building. More than 150 people attended the seminar, mainly from design institutes, architecture offices and developers. The morning session was chaired by honorable guests, Dr. Wu Jiang from the Shanghai Urban Planning Bureau, as well as Prof. Zheng Shiling from the China Architectural Society. The afternoon was hosted by Wang Baohai, Shanghai Construction Commission and Joachim Malecki, Hamburg Ministry of Urban Development and Environment.
